Connie Benko of St. Edmond receives Diocesan Medal of Merit

Connie Benko, a member of St. Edmond Church in Rehoboth Beach, has been awarded the Diocesan Medal of Merit for service to her church.

Benko's numerous contributions to church and extended community include serving as the chair of the Diamond Jubilee Committee, facilitating the events highlighting the 75th Anniversary of St. Edmond Church.

She serves as chair of the Liturgy Committee and co-chair of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a vibrant pathway for adults to enter, or re-enter, the Catholic Church. Benko is a longtime member of the Pastoral Council and Adult Faith Formation ministries. She also serves on the Parish Family Life Ministry, which facilitates social functions for the parishioners of St. Edmond.
