Coolspring Presbyterian Church to celebrate 289th homecoming Oct. 18

October 11, 2015

Coolspring Presbyterian Church will celebrate 289 years of gathering as a congregation at the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Oct. 18. The Coolspring sanctuary was built in 1854. The Coolspring cemetery dates back to 1740. The church is at 28843 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes, between Georgetown and Lewes, just off Route 9 at Joseph’s Road.

The homecoming speaker is Denise Clemons. She is a member of the Col. David Hall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Since the Coolspring Cemetery is the burial site of several Revolutionary War patriots, she will speak about the historic preservation and marking of those sites.

The Rev. Mary Jo Dean and the Coolspring congregation invite the community to attend worship and then enjoy refreshments and fellowship in the Community Hall. The church and community hall are handicapped accessible. For more information, call 302-703-2545.
