Coy Edward Wyatt, Navy veteran

March 18, 2026

Coy Edward Wyatt passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, son of the late Coy and May Shelton Wyatt, and the loving husband of 52 years to the late Mildred Irene Wyatt.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Coy served his country with honor and carried that sense of duty and camaraderie throughout life. Time spent in the Navy sparked a lifelong love of the water, and he was never happier than when near the shore, on a boat, or watching the horizon stretch endlessly ahead. He worked many years for Cape May-Lewes Ferry and the Pilots’ Association for the Bay and River Delaware before retiring from ARCO as a merchant marine.

When away from the water, Coy enjoyed peaceful days hunting, reading a good book, or traveling near and far.

He is survived by his children, Gini Mincy (John) and LeeAnn Green (Rocky); eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many other loved family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his sons, Trevor “Buddy” Ferris and Thomas Ferris.

A private burial will be held.
