Creative Market to spotlight youngest artists Aug. 16

August 8, 2025

The Developing Artist Collaboration invites the community to experience the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of its youngest artists during the Artist Rising Kids Creative Market Art Show set for 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, at the West Side Creative Market, 19826 Central St, Rehoboth Beach.

This special end-of-summer event will showcase the work of 20-plus talented children who participated in DAC’s Artist Rising summer program, a creative youth initiative designed to teach kids not only how to make art, but also how to market, price and sell their creations like real working artists. Visitors will have the chance to view and purchase original artwork made by these budding entrepreneurs, supporting their hard work and creative growth throughout the program.

“The Artist Rising program empowers kids to think like creative business owners,” said DAC founder Leah Beach. “I have to admit, kids are more motivated to sell their artwork than most business owners I meet! This art show is their moment to shine — they’ve worked so hard, and it’s incredible to see how proud they are when someone buys a piece of their work.”

Ashley Woolsey, Artist Rising program manager at DAC, said, “The kids in this program have been working incredibly hard, not just creating amazing art, but also building their own brands and businesses. They’re so excited to showcase everything they’ve accomplished. We hope the community comes out to support these talented and inspiring young entrepreneurs!”

The event is free and open to the public, with delicious eats from Taco Reho and refreshments available from the Creative Market Bar. Attendees can enjoy a vibrant atmosphere full of community spirit, live music and one-of-a-kind art made by the next generation of local talent.
