Daisey Mae Taylor, former KSI employee

October 3, 2018

Daisey Mae Taylor, daughter of the late Eddie and Janie West Taylor, was born March 1, 1934, in Accomack County, Melfa, Va. She transitioned into rest Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home, Millsboro, where she resided since June 2014.

She received her early education at Williamsville Elementary School System. Daisey was employed at Kent Sussex Industries (KSI) in Milford for a period of time. She enjoyed the freedom of having a job, getting a paycheck and having money. She always had money tucked away in her wallet. She loved shopping and being able to purchase her own items.

Daisey really loved going to church! Although she didn’t know the words to the songs, she would sing collectively with everyone else. You would notice her standing up, clapping her hands, and rocking with the pace of the music. She was just so happy and enjoyed being in the service.

Though she had no children of her own she had plenty of nieces and nephews that she treated as her own.

In addition to her parents, Daisey was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Taylor; two brothers-in-law, Robert Smith Sr. and Albert Lee Hagans Sr.; and two nephews, Woodrow Smith and Ondera Johnson Jr.

She leave to cherish her memory, two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Margaret Hagans, both of Frankford; two brothers, Harold (Rosanne) Taylor of Williamstown, N.J., and Russell (Diane) Taylor of Selbyville; a special friend, Grace Garrison of Frankford, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m., Calvary Pentecostal Church 13325 N. Worcester Hwy., Bishopville, Md., with the Rev. Deborah Wright officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for viewing and visitation. Interment will be held at Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery, Bishopville.
