December 28, 2021

Born Aug. 21, 1949, in Williamsport, Pa., he was the son of the late Lyman O’Dell and Jean Margaret Hallstead Smith.

David loved fishing, tinkering around his house, taking care of his yard – he always loved making sure the grass was mowed, and spending time with his family. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren especially. He loved to take his grandson Jaxton out on his boat fishing. He is survived by his sister, Becky Smith Lowry; his lifelong best friend, Elnor O'Hern; two daughters, Heather Curnoles and her husband Jason Curnoles, and Amber Smith; three grandchildren, Lila, Jaxton and Sophia; nieces and nephew, Katelyn, Daniel, and Molly Lowry; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Travis Smith; and twin brother, Donald Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society, and thanks to the nurses and doctors of Bayhealth Hospital.
