Del Tech enrichment offers June, July classes
The public is invited to take advantage of enrichment courses offered by Corporate and Community Programs at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown.
Beginner Horseback Riding, offered from 8 to 9 a.m., Tuesdays, June 7 to 28, and again Tuesdays, July 12 to Aug. 2, will help students ages 15 and up learn the basics of safety, stable management, and equestrian skills. Horse and tack equipment are furnished at indoor riding ring Singletree Stables in Seaford.
Open Bridge is open to anyone interested in playing bridge, improving skills and socializing from 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesdays, June 14 to Oct. 4.
For beginner to intermediate artists, there is Portrait Workshop, including informational instruction with individual assistance from 1 to 4 p.m., Thursdays, June 30 to Aug. 4.
Beginners can bring their ideas to life in the course Looking Good in Print, Beginner, using desktop publishing software. The course assists students in understanding the impact of typefaces, color and composition, etc. Students will also learn to make the best use of photos, clip art and other graphic elements on the printed page. This course is offered from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, July 1, 8 and 15.
Advance beyond the basics of good desktop publishing composition with Looking Good in Print, Advanced, offered from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, July 22, 29 and Aug. 5.
The college's Adult Plus+ Program is dedicated to meeting the unique educational, social, and cultural needs of people 50 years of age and above; it provides educational opportunities for professionals working in the aging network. The emphasis is on developing and providing quality programs and educational services that are responsive to the needs of the community.
