Delaware Adolescent Program Inc. moves Sussex County operations
The Delaware Adolescent Program Inc., Delaware’s only alternative school option for pregnant teens, has moved its Sussex County operations to the Stockley Center Complex in Georgetown. After a three-year search, DAPI has relocated to the Georgetown area with the help of state and county leaders.
The move to Georgetown will make DAPI more accessible to all schools in the county. This was not an option previously because of transportation challenges. A 7,000-square-foot area is available to the program in the new location.
“By relocating and having more space as well as more transportation options, DAPI can help all teen mothers in Sussex County,” said Sussex County Center Director Kim Trivits. “DAPI is very excited to be located across from the Telamon Early Head Start Program. The synergy between our two missions will provide new opportunities for Sussex teen moms and their babies.”

The Delaware Adolescent Program is the only comprehensive educational program in Delaware for pregnant and parenting teens combining education, social services, healthcare and childcare in one nurturing setting. As an alternative school setting that ensures high school graduation, its record has been an average 98 percent graduation rate over the past four years.
The Delaware Kids Connection Mentoring Program is a new statewide initiative of DAPI, designed to foster good choices and a strong foundation for success in middle school students at risk. Significant increases in grade point averages and behavior have been achieved through the program statewide.
