Delaware Coastal Airport Manager Jim Hickin retires

Delaware Coastal Airport and Business Park Manager Jim Hickin, who has retired after 14 years, is honored by Sussex County Council during its Oct. 22 meeting. Presenting Hickin, center, with a plaque and proclamation are Sussex County Administrator Todd Lawson, left, and Sussex County Council President Mike Vincent, right. During his tenure, Hickin coordinated several key, multi-million projects including a $7.5 million, 500-foot runway extension and an ongoing $6 million taxiway project. He was also instrumental in planning for another 500-foot runway extension. He rewrote and updated the airport’s policy handbook. The U.S. Air Force veteran lead a project to rebrand the airport and its marketing campaign. He has been replaced by Eric Littleton. RON MACARTHUR PHOTO
