Delaware collectible dealers open Magnolia Street Antiques in Milton
Eleven experienced and well-known antique dealers in southern Delaware have teamed up to open a new cooperative shop in Milton.
Magnolia Street Antiques, located in the former post office on the waterfront, features a variety of unique items collected over decades by the group of dealers.
“Each of us has accumulated significant inventory,” said Kathy Clark. “We plan to bring the best of our treasures into our booths – and to price those items to sell.”
The dealers, on average, have spent more than 40 years acquiring and selling antiques on Delmarva.
Emi Erickson had a country collection shop in Rehoboth Beach for many years, while Mary Rawl has owned Auntie M’s Emporium in Lewes since 1992, well known for its quality wrought-iron garden items.
Linda Voegele has a weekend shop on Route 13 in Greenwood, while Jane Bell Mazur has a large following for her artwork and painted furniture. Seamstress Eve Middleton makes, sells and repairs quilts from her Magnolia St. Sewing Co. located within the building.
All of the dealers will personally staff the new store each weekend, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday.
The store is located between Mulberry and Union streets in Milton, beside Bodie’s Market and behind the Iguana Grill.
“We love our new location,” Erickson said. “It’s a perfect place for collectors and other dealers to swing by on their way to the beach, and there is plenty of parking.” The shop owners plan to hold several outdoor sales in the fall and spring.
“We have so many good items to sell,” Linda Malone said. “The supply is practically endless. People will see new items whenever they come in. If what they want isn’t here, we can probably find it!”
Karen Krupinski said, “The price is right at Magnolia Street Antiques. At this time of our lives, it’s time to stop acquiring things and start sharing our valued treasures with other people.”
“We all have one thing in common,” said Ginny Gallagher. “Each of our homes is filled to capacity!”
