Police, other agencies suspend search for swimmer missing off Rehoboth coast

According to an update posted just after 11 a.m., July 13, search efforts for a missing swimmer have been suspended after a response that began at approximately 7:38 p.m., July 12, when the Rehoboth Beach Police Department was called to the area of the beach off Olive Avenue for a report of a swimmer last seen in the ocean surf.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company and Delaware State Police Aviation contributed to the search and rescue mission.
The missing swimmer is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 6-feet tall, 160-170 pounds.
