Delaware Farm Bureau scholarship deadlines approaching

March 20, 2019

Applications for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 are now being accepted by both the Delaware Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and the Young Farmers & Ranchers. Deadline for Women’s Committee scholarships is April 11, and must be received by the Delaware Farm Bureau office at 4 p.m. on that date.

Deadline for YF&R scholarships is April 12.

Applications are available at the Delaware Farm Bureau office at 3457 South DuPont Highway in Camden, by calling 302-697-3183 to have one emailed or mailed, or by downloading one from the Delaware Farm Bureau website, www.defb.org. Under “About Us,” and “committees,” click on either YF&R or Women’s Committee to access the fillable application form which can then be printed. Applications may not be handwritten.

The scholarship applicant or parents (grandparents included for YF&R scholarships) must be members in good standing of the Delaware Farm Bureau for at least one year. Recipients must attend college full-time.

Requirements differ for each scholarship. Read the rules carefully.

The Women’s Committee will award one $2,500 ag scholarship to a student who is planning to major in and pursue a career in the agricultural field. A $1,000 scholarship will be given to a student in each county who is planning to continue their education at an accredited college or university.

The YF&R scholarship amount varies, depending the success of fundraising efforts.

Students may also be interested in applying for the position of Youth Ambassador. Applications are online at https://scholarships.delawaregoestocollege.org/delaware-farm-bureau-youth-ambassador-scholarship and are due June 28.
