Delaware FC 2014 Boys’ South Black wins Columbia Invitational

The Delaware Football Club 2014 Boys’ South Black team delivered a stellar performance at the prestigious 50th annual Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Soccer Tournament, held May 23-26.

Competing among some of the top youth soccer clubs on the East Coast, the DEFC squad emerged tournament champions, finishing undefeated across four matches.

The team defeated Davidsonville Football Club Black in a nail-biting 3-2 victory May 24. In the second game of the day, DEFC controlled the game against Coppermine Soccer Club Silver for a commanding 4-1 win.

DEFC dominated Mt. Airy Youth Athletic Association Blue Tigers in a clean 5-0 shutout May 25, securing their spot in the finals.

In a fiercely contested final, DEFC faced AC Connecticut B2014 Black. After a 0-0 draw in regulation, the game was decided by penalties. DEFC triumphed in the shootout 3-1, clinching the tournament title.
