Delaware Hospice to hold six-week grief support group starting Sept. 11
Delaware Hospice will hold a six-week grief support group for widows, widowers and life partners from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 11 through Oct. 16, at the Cancer Support Community, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 312, Rehoboth Beach.
This group will address the struggle that men and women face after the loss of their spouse or life partner. Participants will have the opportunity to examine the challenges they have faced along with others who have experienced similar losses.
A support group is a place to be with people who know what it is like to grieve; to hear how others have grieved and recovered after a loss; to listen and talk - to talk a little or a lot or not at all; a place to share helpful ideas for coping with one's new life; and to talk about the person who has died and the experience of the illness and death.
Delaware Hospice bereavement counselor Sally Packard, LCSW, will facilitate the sessions.
There is no fee for this Delaware Hospice community outreach program; however, space is limited so registration is required by Friday, Sept. 7.
Register or learn more by contacting Packard at 302-468-0592 or spackard@delawarehospice.org.
