Delaware Tech and Perdue School of Business sign transfer agreements
Delaware Technical Community College and Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business celebrated the signing of business transfer agreements between the two campuses Dec. 10. Students from Sussex Technical High School and Delaware Tech joined others from the Perdue School of Business to learn more about the university and the new agreements.
Sussex Tech sophomores Lisa Singh and Bridget Barrett participated. “I think this is a fantastic opportunity,” Singh said. “Between the two colleges, there are a lot of resources available to students who want to get a great education,” said Barrett.
Delaware Tech business student Drew Rodriquez said, “This is a great idea, because you don’t have to graduate from college with a lot of debt.”
The Business Administration Transfer Option at Delaware Tech provides the foundational coursework necessary for successful transfer to four-year colleges of business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, such as Salisbury University.
Associate degree graduates of Delaware Tech’s Business Administration Transfer program will now have the opportunity to transfer seamlessly to Salisbury University’s Perdue School of Business as juniors in one of 10 programs including: accounting, business economics, finance, finance-corporate finance, finance-financial planning, finance-investments, information systems, marketing, management, and management-human resources.
Stephanie Smith, vice president for academic affairs at Delaware Technical Community College, said, “We greatly value our partnership with Salisbury University. These recent transfer agreements are a win-win for everyone involved. This is a tremendous opportunity for our students who graduate with their Business Administration Transfer Option degree to transfer with guaranteed acceptance as a junior into Salisbury University’s prestigious Perdue School of Business.”
“Many university students begin their education at community colleges, and we are grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment to earning a bachelor’s degree,” said Dr. Diane Allen, SU provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “We want Delmarva students to have as seamless a transfer as possible from high school and community college to SU. The university has other transfer agreements with Delaware Tech, and these have served both institutions and students well. The latest ones in business are welcome additions.”
Delaware Tech and Salisbury University also have existing transfer agreements in human services/social work and medical laboratory technology/clinical laboratory science-medical technology.
