Delaware Tech Owens Campus holds annual Donor Appreciation and Legacy Society Luncheon

November 8, 2016

Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus recently held its annual Donor Appreciation and Legacy Society Luncheon to celebrate and thank those who donate to Delaware Tech and help provide opportunity and change the lives of students.

This year, Vice President and Campus Director Dr. Ileana Smith led a discussion with students and alumni titled Learn a Living: A Student and Alumni Perspective. The panel included Jeffrey Benson Jr., a 2011 graduate in marketing and management; Emily Hassman, a current business administration student; Shannon Maner, a 2013 graduate in energy management and a current electronics engineering student; Sherri Martz, a current human services student; and Sam Parsons, a current civil engineering and architectural engineering student.

Also, Dr. Viara and Leslie Vincent-Giraffe were inducted into the Legacy Society through an estate planning commitment to establish a scholarship fund. The Delaware Technical Community College Legacy Society is a distinguished group of individuals who contribute cumulative lifetime gifts of at least $50,000 and/or have announced their intention to leave
a donation to the college via a bequest, charitable gift annuity or any other form of planned giving. Membership includes individuals contributing through personal funds, personal or family foundations or small businesses.
