Delaware Tourism Office launches photo contest
The Delaware Tourism Office launched a photo contest Oct. 1 that is open to amateur and professional photographers. The theme of the photo contest is Delaware - A State for all Seasons.
Entries pertaining to seasonal categories - spring, summer, fall, winter, will be accepted until Feb. 17. Entrants may submit up to three photographs in each category, including scenic photos and photos of people enjoying Delaware sites and activities.
“The Delaware Tourism Seasonal Photo Contest is a great way to engage the public and supplement the state’s photo image library in a cost-effective manner,” said Linda Parkowski, director of tourism, Delaware Tourism Office. “The collected photos will be utilized to promote Delaware’s scenic beauty and diverse attractions during all seasons of the year.”
A panel of judges will select the top finalist in each of the four seasonal categories. One winner from each category will be announced on March 1. At that time, a public voting process will commence to determine who will win from the top four seasonal finalists resulting in a grand prize winner, second-place, third-place and fourth-place winner. The grand prize winner will be announced the week of April 2.
The grand prize winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize, the winning photo will be published in "Delaware Today" magazine and utilized by the Delaware Tourism Office. The first-place winner in each seasonal category will receive a $1,000 gift certificate to B&H Photo and have their photo featured on the Delaware Tourism Office website and social media outlets.
All participants must adhere to the Delaware Tourism Office photo contest rules and guidelines found at visitdelaware.com/photocontest. All images must be submitted by using the photo contest form posted at visitdelaware.com/photocontest. All entries must be submitted by the original photographer. By submitting an image, entrants grant permission to the Delaware Tourism Office to edit, publish and reuse the image.
