Delaware Votes for Animals partners with LUSH Cosmetics to help animals

September 7, 2012

Delaware Votes For Animals, a nonpartisan organization that works to promote humane legislation in Delaware, was recently selected to receive a grant from LUSH Cosmetics, the global industry leader in unique, cruelty-free, and socially conscious products for bath, skin, hair and body. The grant, awarded as part of the LUSH Charity Pot program, will be used by DVFA to increase public awareness of animal protection issues in Delaware, as well as initiatives to end animal cruelty.

“At LUSH, we know we are especially talented in making gorgeous, innovative products, and we also know that there are some amazing groups out in the world doing impactful work on behalf of animals, people and the environment,” said Pearl Gottschalk, LUSH Charitable Givings ambassador. “We created Charity Pots to raise money and awareness for these charities and projects for a better, fairer world.”

Each Charity Pot contains a delectable dollop of LUSH's fresh, organic hand and body lotion, and 100 percent of the purchase price (minus taxes) is used to fund the charitable work of small, grassroots organizations.

“We couldn't be more excited and proud to receive a Charity Pot grant,” said DVFA cofounder and President Patricia Haddock. “LUSH has long opposed the cruelty of animal testing for cosmetics. It's a value we share at DVFA - no animal should have to suffer to make beauty products.”

LUSH currently has more than 800 stores in 48 countries worldwide. The Delaware store is in the Christiana Mall, near I-95. The Delaware Votes For Animals' Charity Pots are expected to arrive in the store mid-September, with an in-store kickoff party planned for Sept. 15.
