The Delmarva Rugby Club fell to Harrisburg Rugby Club 37-17 Sept. 23 at Rehoboth Elementary School.
Former Cape football standout Justin Lopez scored just three minutes into the match. He scored twice for Delmarva, while Jason Austin scored a try in the first half.
Delmarva pulled to 24-17 with eight minutes remaining, but couldn’t hold off the Harrisburg attack.
"We just had two teams play a hard-hitting game of rugby, and the team that was fundamentally sound came out on top," said Delmarva coach John Burk.
Justin Coleman was named Man of the Match for his solid, hard-hitting defense game.
Delmarva will play host to the Hibernians Saturday, Oct. 7, at American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro. For more information, go to http://www.delmarvarugby.com.
