Deloris Wyatt, nursing assistant

Deloris Wyatt, 84, of Milton, departed this life Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at her daughter's home.

Deloris Ayers Wyatt was born in Bell Haven, Va., to the late Isaac and Rachel Ayers, Friday, July 21, 1933. Deloris graduated from the Accomack County Public School System in Virginia. Deloris met and married David Wyatt, and out of that union, four children were born.

Deloris was a homemaker, and also worked in the poultry industry for many years. Later she worked at the Lewes Convalescent Center in Lewes, for 20 years, where she was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also worked private duty for several families.

Deloris was affectionately called "Granny" by her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her heart's delight. Deloris enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. You have not eaten a good breakfast until you had her famous "Homemade Sausage."

Deloris was preceded in death by one son James Ayers; five sisters, Lillie Beckett, Elizabeth Blunt, Hattie Kellam, Jeanette Waters and Magdalene Brisco; and one brother, Joseph Ayers.

Deloris leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Angela (William) Wildy of Milton; three sons, David (Willie Mae) Ayers of Milton, Wayne (Debbie) Wyatt of Millsboro and Calvin Wyatt of Milton; one brother, Milton Ayers of Millsboro; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m., with two hours viewing prior to the service at St. George AME Church, 317 Park Ave., Lewes.
