Dewey beaches are now open for exercise and dog walking, commissioners agreed at the close of the monthly town meeting May 8.
Town Manager Scott Koenig said he was prepared to remove barrier signs at beach access points at the conclusion of the meeting. He said all social-distancing guidelines would be in effect on the beach. Town beaches were completely closed March 21.
“I’m going to leave it up to people to be adults,” Koenig said. “I think people are willing to do some self-monitoring to get to the beach.”
