Dewey donations on way to Houston
Dewey Beach Town Clerk Ashleigh Hudson and friend Kate Banaszak drove through the night Sept. 8 in a 20-foot-long truck loaded with supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey. The two women took the donations to Remote Area Medical in Rockford, Tenn.
The trip took 14-and-a-half hours, said Hudson. After the truck was unloaded, Hudson and Banaszak rested for about an hour-and-a-half, and then made the drive home. The supplies were driven to Houston the next day.
The trip was long and tiring, but it was fun, and it was well worth helping those in need, Hudson wrote in a Sept. 11 email.
