Dewey Egg Scoop offers sense of normalcy

April 6, 2021

The Dewey Egg Scoop provided a sense of normalcy in the Cape Region April 3, as hundreds of people converged on the town’s new Baywalk and bay beach at Hyatt Place for a series of socially distant Easter egg hunts.

Egg hunt participants were split into several age groups, with a dog parade to end the festivities. Prior to each egg hunt, participants were asked to stand next to a pinwheel to ensure social distance rules were followed. Masks were required.

The Easter Bunny was also on hand for photographs.

The event was hosted by Dewey Business Partnership, which has plans for other events this spring and summer.

DBP’s newest event, Dogs, Designers and Deals, is set to take place on the Dewey Beach Baywalk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17. The event will offer dog adoption opportunities, and resale of upscale clothing and accessories.

Masks are required, free parking will be available and there is a $5 admission fee for the resale event. To reserve a resale space at $40 for two tables, email Pat Wright at patwright01@comcast.net to apply.

Dewey Arts & Fun Festival will return from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 8, on Dagsworthy Avenue bayside, where more than 60 artist vendors will sell their wares, a perfect Mother’s Day shopping opportunity. Attendees at this free event can enjoy live music, food trucks, a student art gallery and free parking.
