Dewey needs more transparency now

November 29, 2019

I would like to thank Phil Rowe for his continuing efforts for a better Dewey Beach. In dropping the legal challenge which he made regarding Mr. Bauer’s true residence, he has put Dewey first, even while I believe his legal position was correct.

He decided to drop the challenge due to the town’s massive legal problems. With two major legal issues now facing the police, the town’s $100,000 deductible insurance policy poses a major threat to the town’s economic welfare. It is unfortunate that the public was not made aware of the most recent incident involving a police officer prior to the election. I believe that if the Town of Dewey’s government were truly transparent, Mr. Rowe would be a commissioner now.

Let us hope that there are no more hidden problems that will affect our financial well-being in the future. However, we need to press for more transparency now.
