Diverse treasures featured at Angola by the Bay craft fair

August 10, 2022

More than 200 patrons attended the the 47th Annual Craft Fair held July 16 in Angola by the Bay.

Nearly 100 vendors from Delaware and neighboring states sold unique products that included stained-glass items, handmade fabric objects, lawn ornaments, clothing, bath and body products, photographs, jewelry, fishing lures, paintings and plants.

“This year’s event was another fabulous success. Our group has been offering this show for decades,” said Kathy Fessenbecker, local artist and a Sea Gals officer. “We were excited to have both repeat vendors and many new artists this year. This year’s fair was fun for both vendors and customers.”

The event has become a local favorite. Shoppers enjoyed strolling through a wooded area where rows of vendors show their goods.

Vendors commented how organized and well-run the event was this year, and some inquired about signing up for the 2023 event. “This was my second year as a vendor, and it was as well organized as last year’s event,” said Judy Kane, a local vendor. “The show was full of shoppers who told me they were really enjoying the event and appreciated the hot dogs and cold sodas being sold by the Owls, a men’s group in the community.”

The craft show is sponsored by the Sea Gals, a women’s volunteer organization within the ABTB community. Established in 1975, the Sea Gals is a social and fundraising group that contributes monies raised to local nonprofits, charitable groups and projects.
