Divorce care group to begin March 1 at Epworth UMC
A 13-week session of divorce care will begin at 6 p.m., Sunday, March 1, at Epworth United Methodist Church. This faith-based support group is for anyone suffering the breakup of a long-term relationship, whether married or not.
“Discovering that anger, depression, guilt, financial survival, challenges with family and friends, and establishing new relationships are common issues in breakups, we hope to provide participants with constructive suggestions for dealing with these situations and to introduce them to strategies they can use to begin the process of healing and moving on,” said the Rev. Dr. Patricia Loughlin of Epworth.
The group will be led by individuals who understand what participants are experiencing. Videos and other material covering many topics essential to spiritual and emotional healing will be offered. Facilitators are Marti and David Garrett, with meetings from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays in the Baker Lounge at Epworth Church. A minimum of five participants is needed to begin an effective group.
