Comcast/Xfinity just posted an announcement online stating that non-WBOC owned channels will no longer be available on cable TV in this area. The NBC affiliates, WBAL from Baltimore and WCAU from Philadelphia, will no longer be available because the WBOC-owned WRDE will now be the exclusive NBC channel. The CBS affiliate, WJZ from Baltimore, will no longer be available because WBOC itself will now be the exclusive CBS channel. The FOX affiliates, WTTG from Washington, D.C. and WTXF from Philadelphia, will no longer be available because the WBOC-owned channel will be the exclusive FOX channel. It seems like WBOC has wielded an awful lot of clout to pull this off. Sounds like a monopoly power play to me.
