Donald George Meyer, computer engineer

Donald George Meyer, 73, of Harbeson, formerly of Medway, Mass., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Watertown, Wis., son of George E. and Lois (Gottschalk) Meyer.

Don was married almost 47 years to Maureen Sweeney and they have one daughter, Michelle Richardson and husband Douglas. He has three grandchildren, Noah, Rosalie and Parker.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his brother George C. Meyer; and brother-in-law Richard Felix Lamrouex.
Don is survived by his three sisters, Evelyn Drake and her husband Michael of Yorktown, Va., Jean Lamrouex of Bowie, Md., and Lorraine Nahmens and her husband Charles of Lacombe, La.; and his Aunt Elaine Bailey and her husband Russell of Bloomfield, Ind.; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Don graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1961 and went on to graduate from DeVry Technical School. He worked as a computer tech support engineer for Honeywell/Bull Information Systems until retiring in 2012. He loved his ever-changing job and the challenge of solving the technical problems.

His favorite hobby was golf and he was a member of the Wayland, Mass. golf league for many years serving as their secretary. He was also secretary of the board of directors at The Trails of Beaver Creek, Harbeson where he lived for three years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

His celebration of life will be held at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where a visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 6, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
