Donald J. Holmes, loved to travel

Donald “Donny” James Holmes passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, after a long period of health challenges. He will be missed by his sisters Dorothy and Patty, his brother Bryan, and their families.

Donny was a resident of Rehoboth for more than 20 years. During that time he trained horses and worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry. He was an avid football fan, loved to travel, play darts and watch Jeopardy.

Donny was born Dec. 4, 1949, and raised in Milton, Ontario, Canada. He played an active role in the family’s harness racing business, training and driving in races at racetracks throughout Southern Ontario and New York State. He will be buried in the Milton Evergreen Cemetery alongside his parents James and Margaret Holmes.
