Dr. Harold Koenig to speak on Faith & Medicine Oct. 12 at Bethel UMC in Lewes

October 7, 2014

Christians know by intuition as well as experience that faith promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Now medical research is providing groundbreaking empirical evidence to give new insights and understanding.

Bethel United Methodist Church will welcome Dr. Harold Koenig Sunday, Oct. 12. He is one of the foremost researchers in the world on the subject of health and spirituality.

Koenig is director of the Center for Health and Spirituality, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, and associate professor of medicine at Duke University. He will speak at Bethel at 8 a.m. and at a combined service at 10 a.m.

Following the second service, there will be a potluck lunch in Fellowship Hall sponsored by the Mission Team. Bethel is hosting Koenig as part of a weekend symposium on health and spirituality in Lewes in conjunction with the Parkinson's Education and Support Community of Sussex County.
