Dr. Saez committed to Cape District

May 12, 2015

I will be voting for Dr. Jose Saez May 12. I graduated from Cape Henlopen High School with Jose and his wife Zona. They were and are two of the nicest people you will meet. It’s almost intimidating how genuinely nice and kind they are.

He left the area and went to college and later medical school. They could have lived anywhere to work and raise their children, but they came home to Sussex County. As a local doctor I am certain he treats every and all patients, no matter their race, religion, color, creed or gender.

Many have slammed him for running for school board because his children are homeschooled. I applaud him for stepping up to this five-year commitment that will take him away from his family and add to his already busy schedule.

This commitment speaks volumes to me about his character and his commitment to the children in the Cape district. He has clearly stated his position on the many issues in the district.

I cannot say the same for Dr. Posner. Was she too busy, or just didn’t care to comment on her position in the recent Cape Gazette article? The only position that I heard her discuss was whether the members of the board should or shouldn’t wear their cap and gown when handing out diplomas at graduation. What is the relevance of that issue when our children’s safety, school start times, busing challenges, and appropriate material in school are at the forefront?

I will be voting for Dr. Jose Saez on Tuesday. I urge anyone in the Cape district to get out and vote. Our children’s future depends on it.
