Dream Keepers present community excellence awards at annual gala
The Dream Keepers Foundation Inc. hosted its second annual black tie scholarship gala Aug. 16 in Dover. An Evening of Elegance and a Celebration of Excellence brought together community leaders, supporters and guests to raise funds for scholarships that will help tomorrow’s leaders pursue their educational dreams.
Dante Johnson, known widely as Coach Dante, served as emcee and kept the program rolling with with a dynamic blend of timely humor and uplifting inspiration.
Delivering the keynote address was Tetra S. Shockley, Esq., Miss Delaware USA 2025. Captivating the audience with her heartfelt message on the meaning and purpose of scholarships, Shockley emphasized the importance of education in unlocking potential and building a legacy.
Honors were given to community heroes whose contributions continue to shape education, public service, entrepreneurship, athletics and leadership in Delaware.
A highlight was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Reba Hollingsworth, a 99-year-old trailblazer and educator whose contributions have spanned generations.
