Dune realignment underway at Broadkill Beach
Work has begun on a dune realignment project at Broadkill Beach. The effort aims to rebuild the severely eroded central portion of the Delaware Bay community by relocating sand from the southern end of the beach.
The approach is being used because state topographic surveys indicate the natural equilibrium shoreline does not align with the existing dune template.
