Easterseals Walk With Me & 5K Run Delmarva slated Oct. 22
The Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore team invites the public to join the 11th annual Walk With Me & 5K Run Delmarva event, set for 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, at Baywood Greens, 32267 Clubhouse Way, Long Neck. Check-in begins at 2:30 p.m.
The event will unite hundreds of families and supporters in lower Delaware and along Maryland’s Eastern Shore to raise funds for Easterseals services and help provide critically needed services to families living with disabilities in the local community.
“We are excited to celebrate over 10 years of fundraising at our Delmarva event. We are looking forward to seeing many smiling faces at this year’s events. We hope to make this a record-breaking year,” said Missy Baker, special events coordinator. “The event raises money to support local people with disabilities and their families served by Easterseals programs. We hope to see you there.”
Not only will walkers share the company of event ambassador Wayne Smith, who receives services from Easterseals, they will also be serenaded by Elvis, aka Bob Lougheed. There will be wildlife from Barn Hill Preserve, a fire truck, rock painting, refreshments and trick-or-treating (for kids ages 12 and under).
