Edward Leon Cline Sr., proud veteran
Edward Leon Cline Sr., 89, of Lewes, formerly of Hockessin, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. He was born July 6, 1930, in Mount Crawford, Va., son of the late Roy and Gertrude (Supinger) Cline.
Mr. Cline was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in maintenance for the Veterans Hospital in Wilmington, retiring after 20 dedicated years. Mr. Cline was a longtime volunteer of various fire companies, including Minquas, Hockessin and Rehoboth Beach. He enjoyed his time with these fire companies, as well as with the fire police. Above all, Mr. Cline cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cline was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Stacie E. Cline. He is survived by his son, Edward L. Cline Jr. of Middletown; his daughters: Deborah Sarley of Lewes, Lois Currie of Dover, Cindy Dobson of St. Croix, VI, and Iva Soja of Hartly; his 11 grandchildren; and his 19 great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
