Elks install new officers for 2025

Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes installed Marty Schreck as exalted ruler for the 2025-26 fraternal year in a ceremony held March 29.

Officers and guests were welcomed by outgoing Exalted Ruler Buddy Hall-McBride, followed by the call to order by Grand Exalted Ruler Angela Meyer, Elks State president and PER of Kent Island Lodge 2576.

Top-tier elected officers are Exalted Ruler Marty Schreck, Leading Knight Betty Ann Kortlang, Loyal Knight Terrie Bradley and Lecturing Knight Bob Hall-McBride.

Appointed officers are Esquire Mary DiGennaro, Chaplain Chris Miller-Marcin, Inner Guard Dan Celia and Tiler Mike Bradley.

Other elected officers are Secretary Joanne Mayer; Treasurer Karen Palmer; Bill Fay, one-year trustee; PER Paul Holton Jr., two-year trustee; Kelly Barber, three-year trustee; PER Joy Schreck, four-year trustee; and PER Buddy Hall-McBride, five-year trustee.

In recognition of exceptional service to the lodge, awards were presented to the following individuals: Distinguished Citizen of the Year – Matt Holton for his work helping with North Carolina hurricane relief, offering assistance whenever needed, and coordinating contributions for the William J. Jernick organization; Officer of the Year – Trustee and PER Paul Holton Jr. for his work as chairman of the board and for coordinating many new projects; and Elk of the Year – Dr. John Kreitzer, scholarship chair, for his efforts in managing all scholarship initiatives for the organization.

Leading Knight Marty Schreck and Debbie Correa-Barry were also recognized for their contributions throughout the past year.
