Ellendale man faces drug charges after bust

An Ellendale man faces drug charges following a search of his home Aug. 11.

Members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on 13000 block of South Old State Road in Ellendale in connection with the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. During the search warrant, police said they found about 44.92 grams of crack cocaine, about 15.7 grams of powder cocaine, 44 buprenorphine and sublingual films, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and $793 in suspected drug proceeds.

Three people, including Andre Mullen, 53, were detained in the residence, police said. Mullen was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tier 3; possession of a controlled substance, tier 3; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tier 2; possession of a controlled substance, tier 2; possession of a controlled substance, tier 1; possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; unlawful to knowingly operate or attempt to operate a clandestine laboratory; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned by Justice of Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $178,200 cash bond.
