Enemies of democracy are upon us

October 30, 2020

As I read Don Flood’s latest letter to the editor, it is glaringly apparent that he comes across as a non-believer that Antifa and Black Lives Matter are anarchist and Marxist organizations hell-bent to overthrow our government and end democracy in this country as we know it. Not to mention that he is a Trump hater and a Lewes leftist who is clueless as to what is going on behind the scenes in America with these organizations. You denigrated one of the most constituent-oriented representatives in our Legislature - Steve Smyk - and question the origins of the intelligence that he has developed and passed on to the law enforcement and local communities regarding these domestic terrorist organizations and their plans to disrupt our daily lives nationally.

Make no mistake, Mr. Flood, you are backing the wrong team here and are on the wrong side of history. The reason Antifa and BLM were not successful in creating chaos in the Lewes/Rehoboth areas several months ago was because the Delaware State Police were there to prevent it en masse. If these organizations were allowed to inundate us from Wilmington and Dover, arson, looting, violence, shootings, shooting of police officers, and mayhem would have been catastrophic to the business communities, and citizens like me would have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with DSP to prevent the violence and protect businesses.

Lewes and Rehoboth fortunately escaped this threat. Ask the business community at large if they were nervous during this whole ordeal and you might be surprised at the responses. The problem is they are afraid to speak out because they fear the repercussions from these thugs.

I challenge you and any of the readers here to google Antifa.com and you will see that it goes directly to Biden’s webpage. Yet, Mr. Biden says that Antifa is only an ideology and not an existential threat to our urban communities. For your information, these domestic terrorist organizations infiltrate the press corps at these “peaceful protests” which we all know by now is simply a lie. Additionally, you should know that George Soros reportedly funds these organizations behind the scenes but this is an inconvenient truth that you and others like you don’t want to hear. Where do you think the funds come from to supply rioters with pallets of bricks and water bottles to throw at law enforcement?

BLM is making millions in donations and show me where one penny of it has gone back into the black communities to address the violence and poverty in Baltimore, Chicago, Portland, Minneapolis and other cities where BLM riot, loot, burn, shoot innocent people, shoot cops, and destroy property and businesses. Quite simply - you can’t!

Antifa is an organization of cop-killing thugs masquerading as peaceful protesters and if you don’t see this you are more naïve than I gave you credit for. You won’t see the real Antifa on MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, and other left-wing cable news networks. So don’t play the bleeding heart liberal for poor Antifa and BLM to the viewership of the greater Lewes/Rehoboth areas. You are doing intelligent people a great disservice. These groups are enemies of our democracy and have made no bones about it - do your research, Mr. Flood.

Just because you are not privy to the intelligence that we as supporters of the law enforcement community are privy to through back channel briefings does not diminish the threat that currently exists nationally. Ask yourself this - why do you see Antifa and BLM touting that riots, looting, burning, violence, destruction of property, and killing police officers as a means to justify an end? Why is this considered reparations? Who in their right mind can support these thugs, yet you carry their water for them and drink the Kool-Aid.

You might ask the former superintendent of DSP - Col. McQueen - about his encounter with paid rioters in Dover when they were on the verge of taking over State Police HQ several months back. Yes, Mr. Flood, these rioters are paid to destroy property, businesses, shoot cops, burn, loot, and wreak havoc. Fortunately, though, Col. McQueen was able to talk this group out of it to his credit.

But make no mistake, with the limited number of troopers available there at the time, it was going to be an “Alamo” scenario if they gave that building up to the rioters.

Wake up, Mr. Flood. If you spent as much time looking into critical national security issues with these domestic terrorist groups as you do on the editorial pages, your eyes might open without the rose-colored glasses.
