Enjoying family time with the Gazette at the Rock of Cashel in Ireland

September 2, 2023

Cape Gazette readers Marty and Barbara Foye of Lewes recently visited the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary with their son and grandchildren. Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the kings of Munster. It was there that St. Patrick baptized King Angus about A.D. 450. It flourished as a religious center until the siege by the Cromwellian Army in 1647 resulted in the massacre of its 3,000 occupants. Shown in the photo are Barbara (holding the Cape Gazette) and Marty (far right), who, with their son Tom (second from left), took their four grandchildren on a tour around Ireland. Also pictured from (l-r) are Jessica Albert, Kara and Katherine Clarke, and Brian Albert. On their last day, near Dublin, 18 cousins and four spouses came from all over Ireland for a truly memorable family reunion.
