Epworth Church sets winter worship schedule

December 22, 2018

Every January and February, Epworth United Methodist Church traditionally consolidates Sunday morning worship from three services to two. This helps the church to be good stewards of the environment by not heating the church before daybreak. Also, on many mornings there is a heavy frost that causes icy conditions and safety concerns. Daylight helps melt these concerns away.

This winter will be different.

This year, beginning Dec. 30 and running through Jan. 27, there will be only one worship service held at 10 a.m. In doing this, Epworth is able to bring together the congregations from each service to worship and commune as one.

Then, during February, there will be two services - the contemporary service at 9:15 a.m. and the traditional service at 11:15 a.m. The 7:45 a.m. worship service will resume March 3.

A special invitation goes out to the hard of hearing and deaf community to come and worship at the 10 a.m. service during January and at 9:15 a.m. from then on, as these services will include American Sign Language interpretation.

Epworth United Methodist Church is located at 19285 Holland Glade Road, just north of Rehoboth Beach off Route 1. Epworth UMC is a church Exploring Faith and Embracing Community, truly practicing open doors, open minds, and open hearts as a member of the Reconciling Ministry Network, and it includes American Sign Language services.
