Epworth to host free Thanksgiving Day dinner Nov. 27

Calling in advance appreciated
November 12, 2014

In what has become a local tradition, Epworth United Methodist Church will host a Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner from noon until 3 p.m., Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27. Seating is open and all are welcome.

“This is our seventh annual dinner,” said Diane Leitch, who, along with Reber Whitner, is co-coordinator of the event. “We expect to serve more than 400 turkey dinners as part of our Kitchen@Epworth Food Ministry.” Past years have drawn hundreds of attendees.

Gently used and new sweatshirts donated by Epworth’s congregation also will be given away at the dinner.

The event is open to the public; organizers ask those who would like to attend to call 302-227-7743, Ext. 117 to let the coordinators know how many guests are in each party.

Dinner is prepared by Kitchen@Epworth with assistance from church member Chef Juan Escamilla.

Epworth United Methodist Church, a Christian community and member of the Reconciling Ministries Network, is at 19285 Holland Glade Road in Rehoboth Beach, off the northbound lane of Route 1 behind Tomato Sunshine. For more information, go to www.eumcrb.org.
