Everett M. Bradshaw, retired police officer

Mr. Everett M. Bradshaw, 91, of Dagsboro, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

Mr. Bradshaw was born April 18, 1920, to the late John C.  and Myrtle Perkins Bradshaw.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 10 siblings.

He was a retired Baltimore police sergeant with 25 years of service, retiring in 1972.  After his retirement, he also worked as a Maryland Welfare Bureau Investigator.  He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner.  His biggest hobby was his grandchildren.  “He was the greatest grandfather who ever lived.”  He was a skilled craftsman, had patience of a saint, loved music, had a great sense of humor and loved music.  He always played “Peg of My Heart” on the piano.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Bradshaw of Dagsboro; two sons, Bruce D. Bradshaw of Selinsgrove, Pa., and Glenn R. Bradshaw and his wife Sally of Dagsboro; a sister Doris Hornberger of Westminster, Md.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 1 p.m.  Friends may also call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.
