Exploring Your Environment continues at Gallery One

March 5, 2026

Exploring Your Environment is the theme for Gallery One’s exhibit on display through Wednesday, April 1, at the gallery in Ocean View.

Artist Pablo Picasso said, “The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.”

This describes the artist’s personal environment, and it’s what the artists of Gallery One are inspired by this month. Artists often reflect their environment by capturing the beauty and challenges of nature in their work.

Dale Sheldon captures the scenic of beauty of a rugged ranch just north of San Francisco in her painting, “Point Reyes Historic D Ranch.”

In “My Favorite Lady,” artist Cindy Beyer depicts a majestic orchid glistening in the sunlight.

Cheryl Wisbrock’s painting, “Exploring the Backyard,” depicts a stand of trees and wild brush where a mother deer and her twins are enjoying wild honeysuckle and warm sunshine.

From her studio window, Lesley McCaskill was lucky to observe an unusual grosbeak, depicted in “Winter Visitor.”

Laura Hickman’s “Morning Walk” features her dog leading the way on their daily beach stroll.

Joyce Condry’s “My Backyard” shows an image of past cuttings from her own garden, where she soon hopes to see flowers in bloom.
