Police partner with St. Edmond for community event

As part of the National Faith and Blue Weekend, the Rehoboth Beach Police Department and St. Edmond Church sponsored a free family barbecue Oct. 8, hosted by the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company on Rehoboth Avenue.
By the end of the day, volunteers handed out 240 pounds of chicken, 100 quarter-pound hot dogs, 50 pounds of potato salad, drinks and lots of giveaways.
Donations for the Rehoboth fire company auxiliary were collected throughout the event, totaling $1,100.
In addition to St. Edmond, the police department partnered with Wawa Inc., 227 Rent, Acme and Mountaire Cares to put on the successful event.
