Fall fun continues at Mispillion Art League

September 28, 2023

For the fifth year, Mispillion Art League will host the Big Draw Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7. Attendees can enjoy free, family-friendly art activities on Park Avenue in downtown Milford.

Mispillion Art League and the Seashore Striders will host the 6th Annual Run for the Arts 5K/1M Fun Walk at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 4. The race will start and finish at Bicentennial Park adjacent to the Milford Arena's with a beautiful course through town. Funds raised help the art league continue to provide access to quality visual arts programs in the Milford community and surrounding areas. To register or donate, go to runsignup.com/Race/DE/Milford/4thMAL5k.

MAL’s members-only 20th annual judged and juried show will be on display through Nov. 4, at 5 N Walnut St., Milford. Artist Ray Bartholomew took home the Best in Show Award with his surreal landscape painting, “Experimenting.” Bartholomew’s avant-garde approach and textural complexity make this piece a must-see, along with spectacular works from all the ribbon winners and participants.

Mispillion Art League is seeking instructors for kids’ classes. All who have an artistic passion and enjoy hanging out with kids are encouraged to apply. The league offers a training session for those new to teaching. Instructors have flexibility to choose class topics, age groups and scheduling. The classroom space is stocked with art supplies just for children’s classes.
