Family Promise of Southern Delaware hosted its second annual Fall Festival to benefit local families facing homelessness Sept. 28 at American Legion Post 28 near Millsboro.
The all-day event featured a blues-themed music festival with live performances by local bands Lower Case Blues, Soul Chase - Reggae & Funk Band, Steve Kuhn's NOLA Band, and Grey Fox. Food trucks Bubs Grubs and Damm Good Fish and Chips were available to satisfy cravings. Mystic Brew served coffee. A cash tiki bar hosted by American Legion Post 28 was available for libations.
Proceeds from the festival will directly support Family Promise of Southern Delaware’s mission to end family homelessness in Sussex County.
Since opening its doors in 2022, the organization has served 380 families and 814 children through prevention and stabilization programs.
“Our Fall Festival is more than just a good time; it’s a chance for the community to come together in support of families who are working hard to regain stability and independence,” said Carolyn Kelly, executive director of Family Promise of Southern Delaware. “With the launch of our new Rapid Rehousing Program this year, your support is more important than ever.”
