A Farmer’s Christmas set at Delaware Ag Museum Dec. 3
Young and old can enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday at A Farmer's Christmas set from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village in Dover. Through the work of volunteers, the museum and village have been transformed into a Christmas wonderland. In the main building, young visitors can try their hand at a variety of holiday crafts, including paper quilling, which is new this year, and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Attendees can enjoy sipping hot mulled cider while they listen to a variety of holiday musical performances or observe the many artisans demonstrating their crafts. After enjoying the activities inside the museum, visitors can take a stroll down the avenue of trees, consisting of over 30 decorated trees, and step back in time as they enter the authentic 1890s village.
They will hear carolers singing traditional Christmas music, see a live nativity scene at the church, enjoy the aroma of cookies baking in the farmhouse wood stove oven, watch a blacksmith hard at work in the blacksmith shop and be captivated by ghost stories being told at the train station.
Museum members will be admitted free. Nonmembers pay regular museum admission of $3 to $6. For more information, go to www.agriculturalmuseum.org.
