Fay Jacobs show to benefit Jewish Family Services May 5

April 26, 2018

Back from a sold-out tour, author and humorist Fay Jacobs will perform at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 5, at Java Jukebox in Rehoboth Beach, to support Jewish Family Services of Delaware in Sussex County. Her hilarious and moving oral memoir combines some of her funniest stories of tackling life, liberty and the aging process.

Founded in 1898, Jewish Family Services of Delaware is a nonprofit human services agency providing counseling and support services to more than 3,200 individuals and families throughout Delaware. JFS provides outpatient mental health services, support for older adults aging in place, risk prevention education, digital media training, workforce skills for at-risk youth, case management for previously adjudicated youth, a volunteer network, and a crisis alleviation program.

JFS opened its Lewes location in January 2016 to provide high-quality counseling and care management services for the residents of Sussex County, particularly the older adult and LGBTQ communities. The Beebe Healthcare Community Needs Assessment Study (2016) ranked mental health and behavioral care as the No. 1 need in Sussex County.

Tickets are $25. Java Jukebox is at 37169 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. For more information, call 302-440-JAVA (5282). To purchase tickets, go to www.javajukebox.net/events.
