September 10, 2021

The board of directors of First Shore Federal Savings and Loan Association has elected N. Eugene Malone of Salisbury, Md., to the position of vice president of commercial lending and regional loan officer.

Malone joined First Shore Federal four years ago after a highly successful career of nearly 40 years in leadership with local and regional commercial banking institutions. With First Shore, and working with First Shore Chief Lending Officer Nestor Bleech, Malone has been instrumental in the continued evolution and development of the association’s commercial loan program.

Malone is currently chairman of the Wicomico Board of Education, having served as vice chair after his appointment to the post by Gov. Larry Hogan in 2016. He recently completed a term as board president for Habitat of Wicomico County and is a board member of the Salisbury University Maroon and Gold Club. He has held leadership roles for numerous community activities for many years, particularly in youth athletic programs.

“We are most pleased that the board has recognized Gene Malone with this position,” said Marty Neat, president and CEO. “He has been a leader in the business and banking community for many years, and his work with Nestor Bleech, our chief lending officer, has truly elevated First Shore’s commercial lending to a position of leadership in our region. At the same time, his commitment to the community in which we all live exemplifies what First Shore stands for.”

Malone is a graduate of Wicomico High School and the Perdue School of Salisbury University. He and his wife Donna live in Salisbury, and have three grown sons and two grandchildren.
