First State Dance students accepted to major dance programs

To perform ballet at Schwartz Center April 25-26
April 5, 2015

First State Dance Academy Director Michele Xiques, is proud to announce that students from the Milford dance school auditioned for several intensive dance programs and were accepted to the following programs.

Katie Fields, 16, from Seaford, will be attending Pittsburgh Ballet and was also accepted to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Jay Ledford, 15, of Salisbury, Md., will be attending Pittsburgh Ballet on a full scholarship. Ledford was also accepted to University of North Carolina School of the Arts and to Ballet West on a full scholarship. Maggie Kemp, 14, of Berlin, Md., was accepted to Nashville Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Nutmeg Conservatory and the summer dance institute at the School of Arts at the National Museum of Dance. Owen Lawson, 16, of Milton, was accepted to the Pittsburgh Ballet on a full scholarship.

Glory Tucker, 12, of Milford, was accepted to the Rock School for Dance Education. Hope Wright, 18, of Felton, will be attending Joffrey Ballet at the San Francisco location. Wright was also accepted to Nashville Ballet and Joffrey Ballet School with a partial scholarship, American Ballet Theatre and Delaware Dance Company with a scholarship. Tyler Wright, 12, of Felton, will be attending the Next Generation Ballet Patel Conservatory on a full scholarship. He was also accepted to Youth American Grand Prix and American Ballet Theatre with a partial scholarship.

First State Dance Academy will perform Pirates of the Caribbean Ballet at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 25, and at 2 p.m., Sunday April 26, at the Schwartz Center for the Arts, Dover..
